What used in past to create self watering pots: • Water proof the exterior finish and seal the inner side w/ roof coating asphaltum. • Pot inside of a larger pot and use interior basin saucer. • Plumbed to drip irrigation tubing or bubblers on a censored timer. • Used Styrofoam chips in the soil and inner pot lining, to hold water. • Placed oversize Tikki Torch cloth wicks down center to saucer. • Emerged plastic tubing in the vertical length of the pot, to act as water reservoir conduit. • Topdressed w/ other size bark chips or river rocks to prevent rate of soil evaporation.
