This evergreen shrub features clusters of white or pink flowers in late spring. It’s also favored for its graceful, fountain-like form and leaves that become mottled cream and pink in winter.
Consider Leucothoe fontanesiana as a border shrub or for a woodland garden. Leucothoe fontanesiana ‘Rainbow’, pictured, can grow to a height of 6 feet and spread just as wide. It’s also deer resistant. Leucothoe prefers part to full shade and moist but well-drained soil.
