Chandon, California-based makers of award-winning sparkling wines, have more than bubbles on the brain. This spring, bottles at select retailers across the country will be wearing some very nature-loving necklaces as a part of their Flower Power promotion. Plantable "neckers" are made of biodegradable paper embedded with wildflower seeds that consumers can plant, cover with soil, water and watch their flowers grow.
Seed paper advertisements are definitely a growth industry. Last year, Molson Canadian used biodegradable seed coasters embedded with Black Spruce tree seeds to promote their Red Leaf Project, which improved 100 parks across Canada. And last fall the folks at Fiat ran magazine seed paper advertisements to promote their all-terrain vehicle, the Palio Adventure.
“We wanted to do something playful and fun to welcome spring, and flowers and bubbly are the perfect pair,” said Morgan Robbat, brand director of Chandon. “From a colorful cocktail ingredient to blooms in a garden, flowers are the essence of spring and Chandon’s Flower Power campaign celebrates that.”
Of course, Chandon hasn't planted all its floral notes in the ground. Their Rosé has fruity flavors that pair perfectly with the light, bright ingredients in this cool cocktail.

3/4 ounce gin
1/4 ounce simple syrup
