Yellow finches love the bloom when it dies so I have a hard time deadheading the flower.

After checking at my local garden centers and looked online. It wasn't easy to find an online nursery that was not sold out but I eventually ordered a plant (plus two other varieties) from greatgardenplants-dot-com. Hopefully I will receive...really prefer to shop locally...not sure about online plant ordering.

I can't find the comment now, but someone commented they were trying "Garden Crossing" Nursery out of Michigan. I tried to find these at my 2 local nurseries with no luck. I ordered from Garden Crossings on Sunday and got them 3 days later healthy, substanstial and ready to plant. I am in Zone 4 so thought Michigan would work for me.

Make sure you are picking a variety that is hardy in your area. There are new introductions that have increased hardiness to Z4!! And make sure they are planted in well drained soil. Lavender DOES NOT like winter wet.
