The popular and versatile petunia is a great choice for a splash of summer color in your garden containers. Give this annual full sun, well-drained soil and regular feeding. Petunias will grow up to 10 inches — trailing varieties even longer — and come in many colors including reds, blues, pinks, pale yellows, even multi-colored. Keep them deadheaded to maintain a vigorous healthy plant throughout their long growing season.
