Tricolor flowers on this annual (Chrysanthemum carinatum; also known by Chrysanthemum tricolor or Ismelia carinata) usually appear as white or yellow with some red around a purple center. Commonly called painted daisies or tricolor chrysanthemums, this annual grows quickly and will provide color for your garden from midsummer into fall. Consider it for containers, and provide moist soil. ‘Court Jester’ can grow to a height of 24 inches and spread as much as 12 inches. Plant in full sun, and expect it to attract butterflies to your garden.
